The Ranch
Longview Mountain Ranch is a 400 hectare property situated between Belfast and Dullstroom on the Western Escarpment, at an altitude of 6000ft above sea-level. The Ranch is mostly highland/highveld grass lands with hills and natural springs. It is rich in herbs and different grass types.

The Horses
In 2002, the Ranch became a sanctuary to a herd of 13 wild horses when they faced an uncertain future. After giving them a second chance to continue their free life unhindered by man, we soon became aware of the amazing bond and structure that existed in the herd and the amazing similarities between the horses behaviour and human bahaviour. This was the turning point in our lives as a family.

Studying the herd is an ongoing adventure for us, especially Marty who has begun to fulfill his life's ambition to learn more about the fragile bond between man and horse.

Horse Activities:
We offer basic horse training for people who do not have the time, but dream of owning a horse they can rely on to do the necessary work required from a ranch or farm horse.

We also offer horse and rider weekends. Bring your own horse to the Ranch and join us on wonderful trails (suitable for all levels of rider) and wild horse round-ups.

During these weekends, we try and help you establish a lasting partnership between you and your horse.
